"I can't do this!"

Those words echoed through my living room as I slammed my laptop shut, ending what should have been a healing therapy session. Instead, I found myself mostly naked, covered in my newborn's spit-up, and sobbing on our pull-out sofa.

When I became a mom in 2021, my experience of postpartum depression differed wildly from what I expected, despite struggling with depression for nearly 10 years before becoming a mother. For the first years of motherhood, I relied on small morsels of support without knowing what kind of help I even needed. Every time I asked for help, time or money got in the way.

According to a 2024 State of Maternal Support Report, moms feel they most need support in the following areas:

· 67% emotional support

· 67.8% practical assistance with childcare or household tasks

· 46.2% social connections

· 39.6% access to resources or information

We need to understand what mental health struggles we can face in motherhood. We need to know the language of diagnosis or treatment, know what resources are available, and become advocates for our friends and ourselves. That’s why I created the 2024 Mental Health & Motherhood Virtual Conference.

Of mothers impacted by maternal mental health conditions remain untreated

75%

When the congratulations fade and the post-partum meals stop coming, we're often left wondering, "Is it just me who feels this way?"

It's not just you.

And you don't have to face it alone.

Learn Coping Skills

Hear from professionals who are moms! You’ll feel less alone and maybe more equipped with mental health language. You’ll hear some suggestions on how to give yourself more compassion and grace. You’ll be encouraged and feel held.

Get Support

Our virtual conference will help bridge the gap between mothers struggling and those able to access care. By raising awareness of available resources and the collective need for support, we aim to show that options are available and that you are not alone. Together, we can learn, share, and grow.

Feel Nurtured

We aim to equip everyone connected with mothers with additional tools and language to nurture women who are nurturing their families. Mothers will gain insights into self-compassion, helping them think, talk, and view themselves with greater kindness and understanding.
